First Blood
The 2010 race season was officially kicked off for Vista Ridge Velo yesterday as new team member, Will Sullivan tackled the brutally relentless course down at the Sublime Sublimity event. It should be noted that not only was this Will’s first race of the season, but his first road race ever.
According to Will, after a strong start, the rollers and punchy little climbs quickly spread and thinned the field considerably and while sitting in a comfortable spot, was unfortunately hampered by leg cramps nearing the begining of lap # 2. After a quick session of off the bike stretching, he was eventually able to regain contact with the chase group; but still plagued by the lingering affects of the cramps wasn’t able to maintain a dominant pressence through to the finish.
All in all a fantastic effort for his first outing and I’m sure we’ll be seeing his name a lot higher on the result sheet before to much longer.
